Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment (ACHA)
An Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment (ACHA) is the standard Aboriginal archaeological assessment Everick Heritage offers to clients in NSW. The assessment is guided by the requirements outlined in the Code of Practice for Archaeological Investigation of Aboriginal Objects in New South Wales (the Code). This will often include the results of a survey or a site inspection by Everick Heritage archaeologists. The ACHA also includes a values assessment, assessment of impacts by the proposed works, as well as management and mitigation recommendations. The ACHA will also determine whether an Aboriginal Heritage Impact Permit (AHIP) is necessary for the works to proceed.
